Community Partnerships
Dundalk Renaissance Corporation
Since 2013, DMS faculty and students have maintained a partnership with the Greening division of the Dundalk Renaissance Corporation. The DRC' describe themselves as a ,"... non-profit, community-based membership organization and community development corporation dedicated to revitalizing the greater Dundalk community. ". Since partnering with the DRC in 2013, over twenty Dundalk Middle students from all grades have participated in tree plantings, vegetable garden growing, community cleanups, and storm drain stenciling. Seyi Adebayo of the DRC has been an integral part of the design of the upcoming courtyard restoration project at DMS.

Trout Unlimited
In September of 2014, Dundalk Middle partnered with Trout Unlimited in order to participate in the Trout in the Classroom initiative. The mission of TU is,"To conserve, protect and restore North America's coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.By the next generation, Trout Unlimited will ensure that robust populations of native and wild coldwater fish once again thrive within their North American range, so that our children can enjoy healthy fisheries in their home waters."
Dundalk Middle's TU liaison, Tom Gampor ( pictured below ) has been exceptionally helpful with delivery of the eggs, troubleshooting, and helping with organization of the trout release field trip set for May, 2015.

Awards and Special Recognition
Grand Prize Winners, Clean Green 15 Challenge
During the 2013 - 2014 school year, the students of Dundalk Middle participated in the Clean Green 15 Challenge. The joint effort between Baltimore County Public Schools and the Baltimore County Government encourage children to spend 15 minutes picking up litter in their community. Dundalk Middle logged the most clean-up events out of every school in the BCPS system, earning the Grand Prize of a $4,000 grant towards an Environmental Literacy project. The students voted to construct a bluebird trail and rain gardens in the main courtyard with the winnings.
